4. 4. 1 Kings 8:46

   If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

   I need mercy, not self-righteousness

   Insight No one is sinless; only mercy can rescue us.

   Prayer Lord, let me rely on Your mercy, not my own.

5. 5. 1 Kings 8:50

   And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

7. 7. 1 Chronicles 21:8

   And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

   My sin feels heavy and foolish

   Insight I realize my sin is not just wrong but also foolish.

   Prayer Lord, forgive my guilt and folly.

8. 8. 1 Timothy 1:13

   Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

   God's mercy meets me in my ignorance.

   Insight My identity is defined by mercy, not by my past ignorance.

   Prayer Lord, thank you for mercy when I was ignorant.

9. 9. Psalms 32:5

   I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

   I am cleansed when I confess my sin

   Insight I learn that confessing my sin specifically brings me forgiveness, not condemnation.

   Prayer Lord, I confess my sin and trust Your forgiveness.

10. 10. Luke 17:4

    And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

    When I repent, forgiveness flows

    Insight I see that genuine repentance opens the door for forgiveness, even after repeated offenses.

    Prayer Lord, give me a patient heart to forgive as You do.
